Retrospective in Brazil

Well, almost. [small world] (1997), [korsakow syndrom] (2000), [LoveStoryProject] (2002) and [7sons] (2003) are shown at the FILE Festival in Brazil. A big thing for me, a small one for mankind. Actually, I was not even told. I found my work listed on the FILE-website. After I sent an email to Brazil, the answer came within a week: Yes, all my work is presented in Sao Paulo, and they really, really like it.
Cool - I am happy.

We were in newspapers, on the radio, on TV and now we are on the internet. It is all about a massive concrete building block in the north of Bremen. 1200 people live there. Kolja Mensing and I had the pleasure to live among them for a month. The place is called Grohner Düne. It is a different world. Not bad, but diffenent. Exciting!

New Project!

30 hours ago I temporarily moved to Bremen. Together with Kolja Mensing, an author and journalist from berlin, I spend one month in a social housing project, a huge building block from the 70th. We are collecting stories from the inhabitants. From our appartment in the 13th floor of block B we have a great view on the river Weser.

"Aren't you afraid to live here?", a reporter from a local newspaper asked.

Yes we are.

3rd korsakow-project online!

In 2002 George W. Bush came to visit Berlin. Jakob Schillinger went to watch. He filmed the demonstration and asked the Protesters about their reasons to protest. "Attitüde" is the title of Jakob Schillinger's controverse korsakow-documentary. Jakob is student at the University of the Arts, Berlin.

New Project: [7sons]

Again I am doing a project together with Mahmoud Hamdy. On invitation of the Goethe-Institute, Cairo we had the chance to travel to the Sinai to meet a Beduine tribe. Shike Suellim, and his seven sons told us about their lifes and we told them about ours. Cairo meets Berlin meets the Beduines. Starring Mercedeces, camels and a camel-race-rider.

[7sons] is an interactive media installation.
